Chasing the Moon

For thousands of years, people have stopped to look at the moon.

It has marked time, guided travelers, illuminated dark landscapes and moved entire oceans.

But perhaps the most remarkable thing about it is much simpler:

It still makes us stop.

No matter how busy the day has been, there is something about looking up and seeing the moon suspended above the landscape that reminds us how vast the world is — and how small the things consuming our minds can become.

These photographs were created in pursuit of that feeling.

Quiet.
Wonder.
Perspective.
